UK wood 'stain'
I love watching DIY YouTube videos (often skipping though the terribly edited small talk) but they are usually videos from US and all the products used are not available in the UK. Also it seems to be a whole other language, stain in the US isn't 'stain' in the UK: US Wood Stain: a colour that soaks into the wood- wood penetrating. UK Wood Stain: A satin finish which doesn't soak into the wood but is rather something that sits on top. This finish is ugly in my opinion. Depends on the project obviously. So after doing some research I've found that you need to search for 'wood dye' We don't seem to have that many options in the UK unlike the brand that's commonly used in US- Minwax. I'm writing this because it might help someone else that doesn't have a clue and if it saves you the stress then all well and good. It was really frustrating for me, I hope its not for you.
